The Lake Beulah Management District has collaborated with three other Lake Beulah area Associations to develop and issue a Combined Response to the Village of East Troy 2030 Comprehensive Community Plan.

The Combined Response covers those sections of the Village Plan which affect Lake Beulah, the lake watershed and surrounding areas and offers recommendations for improved future cooperation between neighboring governmental authorities and the Village in order to develop a Growth Plan that meets the needs of all residents and future generations.

The Combined Response was presented to all Village Board members in January 2009 and will be publicized in local newspapers as the Village undertakes a number of open hearings for discussion before the Revised Plan is adopted in June 2009.

Those who live within the Lake Beulah Management District are covered by a group contract with Otto Jacobs that provides better pricing than what is offered on the card. These covered residents do not pay Otto Jacobs directly, but instead pay through their property tax bill. This is true regardless of whether you have a holding tank or a septic tank.

If you have questions or have already been charged directly by Otto Jacobs, use the links here (http://lbmd.org/contact-lbmd/board-members.html) to contact a member of the LBMD board.

Press Release - Lawton & Cates, S.C.

COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST STATE OF WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND VILLAGE OF EAST TROY

In an effort to protect public waterways and safeguard vulnerable wetlands, several individuals and two lake management districts filed suit today in Dane County Circuit Court against the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Village of East Troy, located in Walworth County, Wisconsin. The lawsuit focuses on the lack of testing and consideration of whether a high capacity well is likely to harm nearby natural resources. The well was installed by the Village and approved by the DNR. The plaintiffs in this action seek to prevent operation of this well, and construction of any similar well likely to impact wetlands and public waters, until and unless the DNR first determines that the amount of groundwater withdrawn will not harm natural resources.
